The EKG (Electrocardiography) Department provides 24-hour coverage for 12 Lead EKG’s. About 3000 to 4000 EKG’s are done each month.   Many of the patient floors and units have their own machines and the nursing staff can perform their own EKG’s in urgent situations when the patient is having chest pain.

Currently the department utilizes TraceMaster View by Philips.  This system allows for the transmission of EKG’s over a modem to the EKGDepartment for processing and archiving. Patient EKG's are stored in the TraceMaster system and can be printed-off and reviewed at any time by patient's Family Practitioner or Cardiologist.
